Update:
Chalmette Track Club will not be hosting or assisting the St. Bernard Recreation Corporation in putting on a St. Bernard
Parish Bike Tour at this time. The St. Bernard Recreation Corporation is in need of additional volunteers so that it can
pursue and host a variety of events. The corporation is looking at a possible fall bike tour.
Returning to CTC’s Roots
Plans are in the works to have a final fun run on Chalmette High School’s cinder track before it is removed and replaced
with an updated all-weather track. The track was supposed to be dug up earlier this month. Due to bidding issues and
legal twists, the old track will be with us a bit longer. A last blast fun run on the old track may be held in August. Much
depends on when work can begin to replace the old track. Remember, this is the track where CTC was born and where
speed work became a Tuesday evening tradition for many of our long-time members.
Recently Spotted:
Member Frank Benfiglio recently moved back to St. Bernard. He expressed great joy when asked about his return. He
is looking forward to participating in future CTC events. Welcome back, Frank!
