Val Reiss Park is back and so are we. The CTC Bastille Day race will return to the park BTE Park on
Sunday, July 10, 2011. Real Bastille Day is July 14, but Beverly is more important. The fall Pelicanman
will be on September 11, 2011. The BNO Buddy fish race will be October 9th. The CTC Annual 10
miler will be November 13th and the Woodlands Trail Run will be December 11th. All of the fall events
are assuming the Saints play their normal schedule.
A good time was had by one and all at the annual CTC crawfish party. Our attendance was about
double the participation of the Lynn Oaks and Sugar Fest races combined. These two races along with
Christian Fellowship and perhaps the return of the Oyster festival next fall represent a trend of the return
of the local races. Val Reiss Park is certainly a great place to run with its wide smooth path out of the
way of the other facilities. Come out and enjoy it on St. Bernard Bastille Day on July 10th.
