Weather: 71 degrees, 83%, ESE5-SE25 m.p.h., Heat Index 77 degrees. A slightly larger turnout
than last race (2 years ago) even though it was later in day and earlier in the year and up
against other races and festivals this weekend. A relentless headwind the first half of the race
slowed the field down and wasn't felt on the return. The party after was nice with red beans
& rice, potato salad, hot dogs and chili, Hubig's pies, soft drinks and water (and B.Y.O.B.
thanks to CTC). Maybe we can encourage them to also have a shorter race next for those
not used to running 5K's. Several age groups still need more participation, especially the
younger ones. There's still plenty races left to win Grand Prix awards for all age groups.
